Malia Jenae Carbaugh was a human trafficking victim earlier this year and police worry she may be victimized again, said Beaverton police spokesman Officer Mike Rowe. She lives with her parents in Portland and Oregon City.

Rowe says Carbaugh has a plane ticket to Las Vegas and police believe she's trying to reunite with James Demarr Jackson.

This isn't the first time Carbaugh has run away from home.

Jackson has prior arrests for sex trafficking crimes and was charged with one count of sex trafficking a minor in California after his July arrest. He has trafficked Carbaugh in both Nevada and California, Rowe said.

Police are searching for a missing 16-year-old girl from Portland who was previously associated with a sex trafficking investigation.

Carbaugh is about 5 feet 2 inches tall and 100 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Anyone with information about Malia's whereabouts is urged to call the Portland Police Department at 503-823-3333.
