One of which was against West Ham, United's opponents on Sunday as the new Premier League season gets underway.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Mourinho said: "You know he's injured, he needs time to recover, he's not ready to play".

"The situation is clear and I stop".

"You get the feeling that Chelsea didn't really want Matic to go, but players can push for a move at times and that is why this deal feels different compared to Petr Cech's move from Chelsea to Arsenal a couple of years back".

But despite the scale of the task facing Conte and his players after a frustrating transfer window, Lampard remains confident they can retain their title.

"You look at Manchester City and it's a lot of change there - change for the better I'm sure, but will it all come together this year?"

"With Lacazette it is simple", Wenger said. The other teams will try to give 120 per cent against us.

"I heard whispers at the back end of last season that he wanted to go and even if the club can not come out and say too much about that, maybe there was an element of that in play here when this deal went through".

Chelsea look short of players but I still think they will have too much for Burnley, who managed only one away win last season and rarely looked much of a threat on the road. This must be my focus during this period. The best managers in the world are in the Premier League now.

The English Premier League matches that will be on TV are - Arsenal vs Leicester City, Watford vs Liverpool, Chelsea vs Burnley and Brighton vs Manchester City on Saturday and both the matches on Sunday will be on TV.

"The club are trying to do their best".

The Portuguese coach concedes his squad is "similar" to the one he took charge of last season.

Conte was unable to offer an update on his situation. I need to understand Conte well, he demands the opposite to what my past coaches asked of me.

A Chelsea spokesman intervened, saying: "Nothing to report on that".

Chelsea lost 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw with Arsenal in the Community Shield at Wembley, with Morata replacing Michy Batshuayi in the 74th minute and failing to make a significant impact before missing his spot kick in the shootout.

Chelsea have recruited Antonio Rudiger from Roma, Monaco's Ligue 1-winning midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko and also broke their transfer record to sign striker Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

Antonio Valencia should start at right-back with Matteo Darmian moving out to left-back as Luke Shaw continues to work his way back to full fitness.
