In the quickest qualifying speed of 2017, Rochester Hills native Brad Keselowski captured the pole position for Sunday's Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

Keselowski circled the two-mile superspeedway at 203.097 miles per hour in the No. 2 Ford with his Penske teammate Joey Logano (203.063) joining him on the front row.

It's Keselowski's first career pole at his home track in 17 attempts in the Cup Series.

Joey Logano qualified second, followed by Kevin Harvick. "It's a great feeling".

"About this time every year NASCAR takes all the cars to kind of check to make sure that the competitive balance is where they want it to be, and I think we've seen the last two or three weeks that the Toyota cars are pretty dominant", Keselowski said.

The driver of the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford has never won at MIS in the Cup Series.
