Sky names first Dolby Atmos broadcast, offers UHD art

The first outing with be on Sky Sports, specifically the Premier League match between Arsenal and Leicester (August 11). Sky is offering 124 live Premier League games this season.

We are live from London's Billingsgate Market with a host of top managers and players on Premier League launch day and you can tune in right here on skysports.com and the Sky Sports apps - just hit the video above from 8am - as well as on the Sky Sports Premier League channel and the Sky Sports Facebook page.

Dolby Atmos is the pinnacle in Dolby audio offering immersive sound with up to 64 speakers including audio from above the listener's head.

Alternatively, they can flick to key moments that have been highlighted in the progress bar, such as goals they may have missed.

Beginning on August 14, Sky Q 2TB customers will also be able to relax to 12 animated scenes from around the world, including sunset beaches, flowering meadows, idyllic waterfalls and swimming pools in Ultra HD, as well as great artworks.

But if football is your bag then images of each of the 20 2017/18 Premier League Stadiums will also be available to download.

A few weeks ago, when Sky announced its own soundbar, it was revealed that Dolby Atmos support was coming to Sky Q. At the time the broadcaster wouldn't say when it was arriving, other than an unhelpful "summer" release window.
