The Brazilian completed his medical on Tuesday and officially signed his five-year-deal on Wednesday afternoon, despite interest from various clubs including Liverpool.

Having made his senior breakthrough at Academico de Viseu, Dalbert joined Vitoria de Guimaraes in 2015 before making the switch to Nice the following year.

His sale surpasses Nice's previous record for French midfielder Nampalys Mendy to Leicester City in 2016 estimated at 17 million euros with French forward Loïc Rémy joining Marseille in 2010 for 15 million euros. "It'll take commitment, we've already said that and he'll do it".

However, the Serie A giants were not the only club interested in the left-back, who helped Nice finish third in Ligue 1 last season, and he generated strong interest from Premier League clubs too.

Meanwhile, Serie A club Fiorentina announced the signing of midfielders Valentin Eysseric and Marco Benassi from Nice and Torino respectively.

Benassi, 22, a former Italy under-21 global, joined on a five-year contract estimated at 10 million euros, subject to a medical on Thursday.
