Arsenal winger Walcott promises different season for the Gunners

ARSENE WENGER faces a "healthy debate" to decide who will form his frontline in Arsenal's Premier League opener against Leicester on Friday, says Danny Welbeck. "We want to be united and together through the season and hopefully we can be happy at the end of the season". The Bosnian arrived on a free transfer from Schalke and early signs suggest Arsenal may have completed one of the transfer window's shrewder bits of business.

But after beating Chelsea in the curtain-raising Community Shield on Sunday thanks to a penalty shootout, Wenger once again reflected on the decision to keep his contract renewal on ice despite Arsenal's form in 2017 dropping off emphatically. The former Germany youth global says left-back is "where I feel most comfortable" but he showed his quality as a centre-half when he replaced Per Mertesacker at Wembley.

"The home support will be so key this season".

"Trust me he's not easy to get around (in training) - he's quite wide as well".

But it was his remarkable physique that really caught the eye, with journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke picking him as a possible Player of the Season as Arsenal fans struggled to keep themselves together. "Ramsey has a chance but I think he could be short as well".

The match, England's traditional season curtain-raiser, is a repeat of last season's FA Cup final, which saw Arsenal beat Premier League champions Chelsea 2-1.

'It's going to be different for us this year but it's about the way we react, it's as simple as that.

He has wasted little time impressing his new team-mates as Walcott explained. Everyone's up for the challenge - you know we do like a good challenge. "He's incredible. I see him in the gym every day, you can just tell he looks after himself well, he eats the right food and he's professional".

He went close against Chelsea as he hit the post in the first half of the game and is expected to be one of the major highlights of this season's English Premier League.
