Annabelle: Creation headed for $30 million opening weekend

This presence is a negative spirit that resides in a doll which becomes known as Annabelle. First, though, is Annabelle: Creation, a prequel to the Conjuring prequel that was 2014's Annabelle.

In Annabelle: Creation, several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker's possessed creation, Annabelle. It only gets darker from here. We can assume Creation's budget lands somewhere in between that of Annabelle ($6.5 million) and The Conjuring ($20 million), putting it on the lower end of horror film expenses (September's It is considered a "big-ish" entry with a budget around $35-$45 million, according Forbes' Scott Mendelson). Mullins clutches a crucifix and aims it at the girl-turned-monster, but its powers are so great that they manage to bend his fingers back to breaking point: the final shot we see is of Annabelle's porcelain face fixed into a permanent smile: horrifying.

If you're looking for a good scare this summer than make sure to go and check out "Annabelle: Creation" in theaters this Friday, August 11, 2017.
