A 22-year-old woman told police she was abducted from her home on Cardiff Street in Darra on Monday night about 8pm and held against her will.

She was then allegedly taken against her will across the Queensland border to a house in Grafton where she claims she was sexually assaulted.

Detectives from Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch will seek to extradite a man from New South Wales today following investigations into the alleged kidnapping of a woman at Darra. A man's voice could be heard in the background of the recording.

The man is expected to face the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday on charges including kidnapping, deprivation of liberty and common assault.

It will be alleged that the woman was driven to several locations, and was finally released at around 1.30pm on Tuesday.

The Brisbane woman was taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
