Bob van der Herchen's son and wife have been complaining that they've been hearing something moving in the attic of their Englewood home, WFLA reported.

When Bob van der Herchen of Englewood went to investigate the sounds in his attic he found a 6-foot long boa constrictor that had likely been living there for two to four years. "I didn't think much of it, I thought maybe it was rats", said van der Herchen. His wife believed for years they might have rats living among them, but when Bob finally took matters into his own hands, he came face-to-face with a 6-foot-long boa constrictor.

His son was convinced it was a snake. But he wasn't prepared to find the massive snake hiding among the home's insulation.

"It took three and a half minutes for that snake to move into that rafter was bigger than I expected", he explained. A snake trapper was called, and found it had shed some skin. "My son said he heard sounds in the attic", said van der Herchen.

He believes that it was someone's pet at one point and got into their home from a tree branch that was hanging close to the house.
