Well, today, the company gave us a better idea of precisely whom these investors are as well as a closer look at its plan of action for the USA market.

Amazon 's Alexa Fund and Tencent have invested $300 million in Andy Rubin's new smartphone company Essential, according to The Wall Street Journal. While this may not reveal much, De Masi also stated that the company will be announcing the exact date for the Essential Phone's launch, "in a week".

Unfortunately, however, Essential still doesn't have a firm shipping date for its highly-anticipated titanium-enclosed flagship.

Andy Rubin and his company clearly want to disrupt the duopolistic U.S. smartphone market, which is now dominated by two companies: Apple and Samsung. For Essential phone, we have to wait for atleast couple of weeks to arrive it in our hands. With an innovative and sleek design, modular capabilities, and unique ceramic-titanium body, the Essential Phone certainly captured the attention of tech enthusiasts around the world. In the time since, the company has announced retail partners and exclusive carriers for each region, including Sprint in the US and TELUS in Canada.

Essential, Android creator Andy Rubin's smartphone startup, announced its phone earlier this year but has yet to say when it will actually become available.

If you've been tiring of the wait for the Android co-founder's debut phone, it seems like your patience is about to be rewarded. Do you think it will have a significant impact on the USA smartphone market?
