Darrell Arthur made a very, um, interesting claim at the unveiling of the Denver Nuggets new Nike jerseys. "We can be a contender for sure, right up there with Golden State", Arthur said. They made a big splash signing Paul Millsap, who could work as the ideal complement to a budding star in Nikola Jokic.

It is likely too soon to start talking championship for the Nuggets, but they finished a mere one game behind the Portland Trail Blazers for the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference playoffs last season.

The addition of Paul Millsap to their fold this summer has made the Denver Nuggets a much-improved team, and will have one of the best frontcourts in the National Basketball Association today. The Warriors, for their part, reached the NBA Finals for the past three seasons, winning two titles with Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green leading the way. This time, it's the Denver Nuggets, a team that is on the up-and-up in a big way. The Nuggets were considered a ideal trade partner as they can come up with a package of veterans and young players for Irving. They've also been growing a stash of guards in Gary Harris and Jamal Murray, and the young core of this team should have the Nuggets on the path to becoming a real powerhouse.
