Andrew Luck's status in question for Week 1 vs. Rams

We believe this is the first time someone from the Colts' organization has openly admitted that Luck may not be ready for Week 1.

Luck underwent surgery in January to fix a lingering issue in his throwing shoulder and started training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list, though he has been throwing and working through a throwing motion.

Colts GM Chris Ballard told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero that it's still to be determined if Andrew Luck (shoulder) will be ready for Week 1.

Luck was dealing with a torn labrum, which is a significant shoulder injury, particularly in a quarterback's throwing arm.

While speaking with reporters just a few days ahead of Indianapolis' preseason opener against the Lions on Saturday, Colts coach Chuck Pagano revealed the team still doesn't know when the veteran quarterback will return.

If Luck is unable to go, Los Angeles would likely face Scott Tolzien, who's now slotted in as the backup quarterback.

Luck still has a month to recover, but Rams fans should keep a close eye on his health.
