Particularly as the sometimes shifty Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Bronn were heroic in the face of fire, while the usually morally upright Daenerys was, shall we say, a bit massacre-happy by setting an entire army alight? Bran Stark has another out-of-body moment.

While much of the focus was on Jaime Lannister's defeat at the hands of Drogon, there was one remarkably wonderful reunion between three Starks: Arya, Sansa, and Bran. Jon explains this to Dany, and she swears to join his fight - as soon as he bends the knee.

However as Daenerys wrestled to to pull the bolt out her dragon, Jaime appeared on his horse and attempted to kill Daenerys, but her dragon protected her by breathing fire in Jaime's direction leading to someone - was it Bronn? So, finally, Arya Stark reached Winterfell and reunited with her big sister Sansa Stark after several years. This entire season, there has been something constantly off about the Mother of Dragons and it is a little hard to ignore. Fair to say she has learnt her lesson.

All doubts are cleared in the next scene where Varys tells Tyrion "to find a way to make her listen". Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) advises against it, so Dany asks Jon his opinion - which is essentially to cool off and think of another plan.

Anyway, whether or not Dany is going bonkers will be revealed in the next episode. Shot in Caceres in Spain, the sequence involved 27 wagon trains, numerous burnt, semi-burnt and unburnt props, an eco-friendly black dye and ash, between four and eight cameras, and extensive visual effects, including 80 shots of Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) riding the dragon, the makers said. The wounded dragon plummets to the ground, where Dany struggles to remove the arrow. The last we see of him, Jaime is sinking into the water as his heavy armor weighs him down, pulling him deeper into the inky abyss.

Seeing a vulnerable Mother of Dragons, Jaime attempts to live up to his "Kingslayer" moniker and charges at her with a spear. We're sure he's still alive, but Cersei is not gonna be happy when she finds out her brother/lover got roasted by a dragon.
