TS Franklin is centered about 265 miles east of Belize City and moving WNW at 13 mph.

INVEST 99L: A second disturbance in the central Atlantic is fighting shear and dry air, but if it survives there is some chance of slow development late this week. This one is in the mid Atlantic.

Expect scattered showers and a few storms with highs in the low 70s.

The rain will start after midnight and continue through Monday evening with possible thunderstorms after 2 p.m. That will feel so different after the last week or so of warm and humid conditions. We will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms, thanks to a disturbance coming out of the Gulf. Tuesday highs will top out in the 70s and lower 80s once again with more gray skies.

Tuesday and Wednesday will still have rain in the forecast.

Another round of storms moves in Saturday with the best chance Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny - high near 85.

Humidity will reach early morning highs in the mid to high 90s, save for Friday when it will reach 100.

Monday night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. The southern half of New Jersey should become sunny with a high near 84, the weather service says.

Daily showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue this week and possibly through next weekend.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy - low around 67. Lows drop into the 60s behind our modest cool front.

Winds are expected to pick up midday, with south winds from 10 to 15 miles per hour with gusts as high as 20 miles per hour.
