Veteran actor Dilip Kumar's health shows no improvement, says hospital

In the statement, the hospital said, "Dilip Kumar is doing well & improving, all vital parameters are stable".

Legendary actor Dilip Kumar, who is undergoing treatment for kidney-related problems, is constantly showing signs of improvement. Kumar is treated by cardiologist Dr Nitin Gokhale and nephrologist Dr Arun Shah. Indian media reported that Dilip Kumar will require a dialysis, but not in capacity of a ventilator.

Since past two days, the thespian's health was on a downfall as creatinine level in his body rapidly went up, along with potassium levels falling down.

The 94-year-old actor was admitted to the hospital in suburban Bandra on Wednesday morning due to dehydration and urinary tract infection. "He has no fever and there is no breathlessness". On December 11, he celebrated his 94th birthday at the hospital, pictures of which were posted on his Twitter account.

Dilip Kumar has been married to actress Saira Banu since 1966. Known as the "Tragedy King", Kumar has acted in over 65 films in his career and is known for his iconic roles in movies like "Devdas '(1955), "Naya Daur" (1957), "Mughal-e-Azam" (1960), "Ganga Jamuna" (1961), "Kranti" (1981), and 'Karma" (1986). He was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 and Padma Vibhushan in 2015.
