Authorities are investigating after a disturbing video was posted online appearing to show a dog being abused on a TTC subway train.

A passenger confronts her, telling the woman: "You gotta stop hitting your dog". "What the f**k are you talking about?"

Another passenger is heard complaining to a Toronto Transit worker "She keeps biting its tail".

According to Huang, the pet owner was eventually escorted off the train by three transit workers.

Reiterated Huang after she'd stopped filming, 'The whole train stopped, more than three TTC staff walked to her and then she got off the train.

She was escorted off the train, however it is not known whether she faced any legal action resulting for her cruel treatment of the dog.

Const. Allyson Douglas-Cooke told Global News they spoke to multiple witnesses as well as the woman in question. Based on the information they received, police released the woman with a warning. I would have hit the alarm while recording and physically taken the dog from her. No one even backed up the guy who did stand up'.

Douglas-Cook said the matter was referred to the OSPCA for further investigation after the video surfaced.
