Small Plane With 3 Aboard Crashes in New Jersey

Three people were airlifted to various hospitals Saturday night after a plane they were in crashed in the township, police said.

The crash, which is the second small plane crash in New Jersey this weekend, occurred around 10:30 a.m. Sunday in Green Township, Sussex County.

The plane was headed from Blairstown Airport to Sky Manor Airport when it crashed about a half-mile northeast of Sky Manor Airport, near Pittstown.

The pilot, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is under investigation by the NTSB and the FAA. The National Transportation Safety Board will determine probable cause, Bergen said.
