The 50,000 or so that packed out the Aviva were treated to a good performance on the whole from the English giants despite a disappointing first half. The Welsh underage global scored the side's second goal.

One player who stood out for Klopp's side was Ben Woodburn. The Portuguese transformed Hull into a combative and solid team when he took over last season and will likely have a similar effect at Vicarage Road. "That's how it is- young players have these ups and downs".

And with Coutinho being a doubt for Liverpool's Premier League opener away to Watford, Klopp says Solanke is pushing for a place in the starting XI.

The Liverpool coach was only too happy to mingle with the mini Reds, as he lifted Rian Carey, 5, from Longboat Quay, Dublin, among others, overs the security barrier to get a up-close and personal pic.

Liverpool's pre-season ended with the same assurances and concerns with which it started. Alberto Moreno is 100 per cent back which is really nice after a hard year.

"Andrew Robertson shows all the skills he has, of course he still has to adapt to our way of playing but you can already see what a threat he can be offensively". James Milner will now be considered a midfield option again. Dom Solanke, he already showed that he is ready for some adult football. Ryan Kent, last season he developed unbelievably, and this pre-season has been completely different for him compared to a year ago.

"So, without paying too much money or the highest transfer fees we have additions in the squad". But the squad is big and I thought especially today that showed.
