LG has announced that its next flagship device will be the 'first smartphone from LG to sport a plastic OLED FullVision display.' The LG V30 was widely reported to feature an OLED display and this announcement confirms those rumours. "Expertise in OLED has long been a core competency of LG, and the technology has always been seen as a potential value-add for smartphones", said Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. The advantage of an OLED display is the operational response time, which is a lot faster than LCD.

LG V30 will be the first Android smartphone to have a camera with f/1.6 aperture crystal clear lens that works on several specialized camera effects.

The screen resolution will be 1440 x 2880, which translates to a QHD+ display and enhance the device's VR capabilities. With the Secondary Display gone, will the fans still stick with the LG V30 or will they go for some other devices like the upcoming Note 8? But it seems like the company has worked to get the maximum display size by reducing the top and bottom bezels by 20 percent and 50 percent respectively.

When the V20 was launched a year ago, it offered some of the best audio quality in the market to date, and the V30 is expected not only to continue that trend, but provide advancements as well. It will feature Advanced Quad DAC, an improved version of the DAC found in the V20.

This also shows how LG is looking forward to future opportunities, as OLED displays not only provide superb visuals, but are also the hardware of choice for advanced virtual reality technology, which is one of the key growth areas of today's smartphones.

While the LG G6 is available now, the LG V30 isn't.
