Game of Thrones episode 4 leaks online before TV broadcast

An as-of-yet unaired episode of the smash-hit series Game of Thrones became available online, ahead of its official broadcasting date.

Though this most recent leak is unrelated to the 1.5 terabyte HBO hack, there were unconfirmed reports earlier this week that the same episode-in addition to last week's "The Queen's Justice"-had been compromised by those hackers".

While the fandom is quite obvious among "Thronies" in Malaysia - sharing their thoughts (spoilers, for some) on their social media timelines, in the meantime while waiting for the next episode, a local social media channel called KiniDia has creatively compiled footages from the past seasons of the HBO series, while localising its content.

Instead, this episode leak stems from a security breach at HBO distribution partner Star India. Hackers obtained the script for "The Spoils of War" along with episodes of other HBO shows in a breach that could be seven times larger than the devastating attack against Sony in 2014. "We take this breach very seriously and have immediately initiated forensic investigations at our and the technology partner's end to swiftly determine the cause", a Star India rep said Friday.

"Game of Thrones" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. "This is a grave issue and we are taking appropriate legal remedial action".

Every Monday mornings, Game of Thrones fans are glued to their laptops or television sets to catch the latest Season 7 offerings.
