The flash flood warning was expected to stay in affect until 1:15 a.m.

According to NWS information, a slow-moving storm system and near-stationary surface front will bring periods of moderate to heavy rainfall in the watch area Saturday into early Sunday morning.

After our morning rain, which was a general.25 inches to.75 inches of rainfall, this just makes it easier for creeks and streams to flood later this evening and overnight from downpours. The Kansas and Missouri rivers are far below flood stage here, and the advisory is for rapid rises in urban and small streams.

The weather service said that Doppler radar at 10:10 p.m. found thunderstorms producing up to 3 inches of rain.

Steep terrain and recently burned areas from wildfires will be especially susceptible to flash flooding and debris flows. Some areas may see more rain. Those counties and points west could see between two and four inches of rain by Sunday evening with localized amounts of over six inches. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

The weather service asks motorists to avoid flooded roads.

Flooding may be reported to law enforcement agencies.
