Final list out, 19K students left out of FYJC

Mumbai: Over 9,385 students eyeing for the First Year Junior College (FYJC) admissions are still waiting for a seat in a college after the fourth merit list. "The special rounds will be for seats that are left over after the four merit lists". While the education department announced the merit list a day ahead of schedule, the cut-offs of all colleges was not uploaded till late Saturday. "All the pending students with their details will be given to the state government and they will decide what has to be done next", said a source.

As per the Maharashtra state First Year Junior College, it has a capacity of 2.92 lakhs. The students were given time till 1st August to report to the allotted Junior Colleges and secure admission. But here is a good news for all those candidates (allotted their first preference college in first three rounds) who could not confirm their admission, they will be given another chance to participate in the admission process. "Students must be selected on the basis of seats available and their percentage as this is the final round".

In Junior Colleges across Mumbai metropolitan region, more than 1.37 lakh students have secured admission in the first three rounds. Important dates set by the board are candidates has to confirm seat between July 21 to July 24 2017, display of vacant seats after Round 2 Allocation is on July 25 2017 at 5pm, Third list of Round 3 Allocation is on July 29 2017 and the final merit list will be available on August 6 2017. "Admissions can be done at colleges that are open on Monday, but colleges and students will have an additional half day to complete the formalities", said an official. Also, they need to confirm their seats by paying fee before on August 8th (Tuesday) at 5 pm evening. On 6th August, SESD has released the final or 4th Allotment List. After snapping it, aspirants must enter their six digit application number that was provided by Officials during the registration.
