On Saturday morning, the team announced that right-hander Felix Hernandez had been placed on the 10-day disabled list with biceps tendinitis in his right arm.

Hernandez has been durable throughout his career, however, and he entered the 2017 campaign with 11 straight seasons of 25 or more starts (the first 10 of which featured 30 or more starts).

The Mariners replaced Hernandez by recalling left-hander Marco Gonzales from Triple-A Tacoma.

Hernandez missed nearly two months earlier this season due to inflammation in his pitching shoulder. He is 3-2 with a 4.02 ERA in eight starts since coming off the disabled list.

Gonzales was acquired from the Cardinals shortly before the trade deadline in exchange for Tyler O'Neill.

This move marked another setback for Seattle's ace after he missed time earlier in the season with a shoulder injury. Ramirez is scheduled to start Sunday in the series finale at Kansas City, while Gallardo is slotted for Wednesday at Oakland.
