The Wildcats are ranked 19th in the USA Today preseason poll, as voted on by a panel of college football coaches.

The Texas A&M University-Commerce soccer team is ranked 15 nationally in the Division II Preseason Coaches' Poll, as released by United Soccer Coaches on Friday.

K-State checked in at No. 19 after going 9-4 last season. The Lions return six starters from the 2016 LSC champion team, including all-region players Michelle Kotlik and Delaney Bunselmeyer, and LSC Newcomer of the Year Sophie Haywood.

Washington State fell just outside the coaches top 25, receiving 99 votes to fall one slot back of Utah.

Washington finished 4th in the poll a year ago after going 12-and-2 and losing in the CFP semifinals to Alabama. Ohio State is second, Penn State sixth and MI ninth.

Alabama is number one, followed by Ohio State, Florida State, Southern California and Clemson rounding out the top five. West Virginia of the Big 12 is ranked No. 1, and those teams will meet on October 8 in Morgantown, West Virginia. Oregon State did not receive any votes.
