MS linebacker Detric Bing-Dukes and cornerback Ken Webster have been suspended for the Rebels' season opener against South Alabama on September 2 after being arrested on charges of shoplifting.

Per Antonio Morales of the Clarion-Ledger, Bing-Dukes and Webster were arrested Tuesday evening and charged with shoplifting by the Oxford Police Department.

Luke made the announcement at a Wednesday news conference to open fall camp. They posted bail about an hour later.

The Rebels' interim head coach Matt Luke addressed the matter on Wednesday.

Bing-Dukes, a linebacker, played in 11 games last season with three starts.

With Webster being out against South Alabama, Ole Miss will need a younger defensive back like Jalen Julius to step up and fill his shoes against the high powered Jaguars passing attack that defeated Mississippi State in Starkville last season. He started every game for the Rebels at cornerback the previous season and made an appearance in every game in the 2014 season, mostly on special teams.

Webster missed almost the entire 2016 season after injuring his left knee against Florida State in the season opener.
