Paul McCartney hasn't often been the most overtly political artist during the course of his distinguished career, but it sounds like at least one of the songs on his next album will be inspired by current events - specifically Donald Trump's ascendancy to the US presidency.

"Sometimes the situation in the world is so insane that you've got to address it", the music icon told students who gathered to hear him speak.

He might have given a clue to the song's likely angle, though, after recently telling Daily Telegraph, "He's (Trump) unleashed the ugly side of America".

In 2006, he told Larry King on CNN that the musician should've gotten a prenuptial agreement before marrying Heather Mills, who he divorced after six years of marriage. "He insisted on no prenup and it's going to cost him a lot of money".

But what McCartney didn't say is whether the new tune, the title of which he didn't announce, will be in favor or Trump or against him - but it's likely to be the latter based on past opinions.

"Sometimes the situation in the world is so insane that you've got to address it". He has also teamed up with his former Beatles colleague, Ringo Starr, for the track We're On The Road Again, for the drummer's next solo album, Give More Love.

Although there has been no official release date announced yet, the album is one of the most highly anticipated of 2017.
