Benjamin Mendy, Bernardo Silva, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Valere Germain having already been allowed to leave the Stade Louis II and there could be further departures before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

"Of course, Fabinho and Lemar are older, they may be a bit more mature, but Kylian, even these last two days, he's been working well".

The French champions are preparing to begin the defence of their title on Friday night against Toulouse with doubts still lingering over the futures of Thomas Lemar and Kylian Mbappe.

He's also able to play across the front line in either wing position or down the middle, and has been touted as the replacement for Thomas Lemar.

The Ligue 1 club's hierarchy are keen to retain the likes of Lemar and Mbappe, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

The 21 year-old has signed a five year contract with the Ligue 1 club, and he was quoted on the Monaco official website as saying: "I'm very happy to join Monaco, a club with a very ambitious sporting project who field a lot of young players".

According to the update, Arsenal may have to break their transfer record for the second time this summer to secure the France international's signature.

'Yes, [Mbappe] did not score in pre-season, but he is working hard to change things.

He continued: "It's not only about [Kylian Mbappe], all the young players who were here a year ago and had a great season". They know that the most important thing is the pitch'.
