Characters from previous seasons have made appearances (Pepper in Asylum and Freak Show; Lana Winters in Asylum and Roanoke) and plots have been foreshadowed years before they appeared onscreen (the Roanoke tribe was first alluded to during Murder House).

American Horror Story fans are looking forward to the premiere of Season 7, which has been titled, Cult.

"Cult" has a new member, Emma Roberts, and it's clear she's ready for a cutthroat season. Bates, an acclaimed actress who made a name for herself by starring in films such as Misery, Titanic, Fried Green Tomatoes, and many more, now has a new television project in the works that is preventing her from returning to AHS.

While it is definitely still possible that Bates could return to AHS in the future, Disjointed is likely to keep her busy for a while, with the Netflix comedy casting the actress as the owner of a marijuana dispensary.

We've got more news today about Ryan Murphy's ongoing anthology series American Horror Story, which is busy filming the seventh iteration for this coming fall TV season.

Question: What's the main connection between the different seasons of FX's American Horror Story? In addition to the newly announced Roberts, the returning stars include Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy, Mare Winningham, Cheyenne Jackson, and Adina Porter. Will you miss her in Cult?
