OF Stephen Piscotty was activated from the 10-day disabled list Tuesday.

Piscotty, who has been sidelined by a strained right groin, hasn't played since July 14.

To make room for Piscotty, the Cardinals optioned rookie Harrison Bader to Class AAA Memphis.

Piscotty only produced three hits in 15 at-bats during a four-game rehab assignment with Low-A Peoria, but since his groin presented no complications during those contests, he'll be cleared to rejoin the big club.

Piscotty previously was on the disabled list May 5-19 with a strained right hamstring. The 26-year-old is batting.236 with six homers and 31 RBIs this season.

Bader, 23, started six games in center field during the first major league stint of his career. The run scored was the game-winner on a walk-off sacrifice fly in his big-league debut July 25.
