The Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is investigating footage of men forcing a young alligator to drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes.

The small reptile is being held, hanging by its tail, in the footage as the men pour an entire bottle of beer down its throat, and stick a burning cigarette out of its jaw. "On the identities of all individuals viewed in the video as well as anybody that might not be visible". A source tells FOX 29 the video was taken in the basement of a home in Bustleton where one of the guys lives.

While no official charges have been filed, a criminal investigation has reportedly been launched. "There are too many times we see this kind of cruelty", SPCA Director of Humane Law Enforcement Nicole Wilson said to WTXF. The legislation, called Libre's Law, was named after an abused Boston Terrier who was found starving, covered in mange and left for dead. People think they're bulletproof a lot of time and they don't go to the eventual end result and we get a lot of cases on social media of people doing really heinous things whether it be to an animal or a person. Depending on when or if the men from the Snapchat video are charged, their behavior may be considered under the new penalties.
