According to Aaron Suttles of the Tuscaloosa News, Hand was asleep in a parked auto when he was arrested for driving under the influence.

Even though the Woodbridge High School graduate and University of Alabama senior defensive lineman was not driving, he was still charged because the keys were in the auto, therefore violating Alabama state law, which considered Hand to be in "constructive possession" of the vehicle, the Tuscaloosa News reported.

Hand was parked in a near-campus parking lot, sitting in the driver's seat with the headlights on and the vehicle cranked, but was asleep with the auto in park. It responded late Monday afternoon with a report stating the time of arrest was 4:30 a.m. Saturday at the 1100 block of University Blvd - just off the Strip near campus and a few blocks from Bryant-Denny Stadium.
