Man accused of overdosing in Dunkin' Donuts bathroom while son waited outside

A 26-year-old Boston man allegedly left a child unattended in a New Hampshire Dunkin' Donuts Saturday evening while he overdosed on heroin in the restaurant's bathroom, according to police.

Morrissey was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Manchester circuit court September 6.

Morrissey had allegedly entered the bathroom to ingest heroin, leaving a 9-year-old boy who was with him unattended in the main dining area.

Police say the boy told an employee that his father had been inside the bathroom for a long time, according to WCVB. Staff members called 911, which resulted in the fire and AMR personnel to arrive and administer Narcan.

The boy was placed in his grandmother's care as Morrissey was transported to Elliot Hospital.
