A stalker who threatened to stab Kate Beckinsale was arrested at Tampa Bay Comic Con on Saturday (29Jul17).

Tampa police say Terry Lee Repp, 45, has an irrational obsession with the victim and has traveled across the country in an effort to harass her. At a Salt Lake City event a year ago, he touched her back and threatened to stab her with a knife, the arrest report said.

TMZ reported that an officer recognised the man and arrested him before he was taken to Hillsborough County Jail, where he was charged with stalking. He also ran into Beckinsale again at another event in Houston the same year, where he was detained by police and kicked out of the event. In a report, the authorities had described a man who has an "obsession irrational for the victim and who has traveled around the country for the goal of harassing them".

Although he didn't manage to make contact with her this time, she had to go to the police station to file a report.

Police have not released the identity of the woman, but TMZ reports Beckinsale postponed her appearance at the event due to an incident with a fan. The star of the saga Underworld was there to moderate a panel at which she had to submit to the game of questions/answers in the face of the fans.

No actual word on what the fan did... but the man was apparently escorted far away from the building and ordered not to return.
