Man Utd have always been linked with the Welsh worldwide and ESPN reported yesterday that Jose Mourinho would make a move to sign the attacker if Madrid made it clear he was available for transfer.

Gareth Bale has reportedly rejected the chance to sign for Arsenal this summer, according to reports in the Spanish press. The signing of Paul Pogba was a statement of intent, but he has so far flattered to deceive, and Jose Mourinho knows he needs quality as well as quantity for United to not just close the gap, but to overtake them and stay at the top of the tree.

Jose Mourinho's team has long admired the Welsh forward, who moved to Madrid from Tottenham in a world-record £86 million (about $113 million) deal in 2013. "Everybody in the club, president, CEO, the board, myself, we all felt after the years I was there that the hard part of the job was done and they wanted me to stay", Mourinho was quoted as saying by goal.com. If Zidane wants his man, and they do pay the amount likely needed to bring him to Madrid, they are going to want him on the pitch as much as possible to get maximum value from him - he sure would be a very expensive substitute to have.

Mourinho: "At Madrid, I nearly had to beg them to let me go".

He told him: "I can't buy you because you don't talk to me".

Mourinho then returned to Chelsea for his second spell with the club, and at the start of the 2016-17 season, he made a move to United. I wanted to go and win the title in Spain, but it was not for me to stay. He either agrees to join United this summer - or he will move onto other targets next year.
