A 15-year-old girl fleeing one rapist flagged down a vehicle in the middle of the night only to be raped by a second man, police have said.

The young girl who is now recieving support for her traumatic ordeal was apparently raped by two ruthless men in the space of a few hours on Tuesday night.

Police said the first attack happened this week in an isolated part of Birmingham's Witton railway station, between 7pm on Tuesday and 2am on Wednesday.

Shortly after this attack, the victim, in an agitated state, walked away from the area and flagged down a passing vehicle to ask for help.

'This was a horrifying ordeal for this young girl and we have specially trained officers supporting her, ' Detective Chief Inspector Tony Fitzpatrick, from British Transport Police, said.

A major investigation is now underway with police appealing for witnesses to find both men.

The girl then returned home and the police were called.

Detectives say the first attacker is described as Asian with light skin, brown eyes, was of a skinny build and about 6ft tall and was wearing a track suit top and bottoms, black trainers and was in his early 20s.

"It is now vitally important we investigate exactly what happened on Tuesday morning as well as identifying offenders for both of these terrible incidents".

"I would be keen to speak with anyone who may have been in the area at the time".

"If you were passing by the station and saw two girls walking with an older man, then please get in touch immediately".

Whilst the second attacker is also described as Asian, in his early 20s, 5ft 6/7ins tall, of large build with a tight-cropped beard and was wearing a blue jumper and black jeans. Alternatively, pass information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
