Italian performance bike company Benelli today launched the 302R priced at Rs 3.48 lakh (ex-showroom) in the fast developing budget performance biking segment.

With a kerb weight of 198kg, the Benelli 302R is certainly a slightly portly motorcycle, but it seems to have been designed with a sport-touring role in mind, rather than being an outright sports bike. The 302R also gets a new trestle frame that's from the TNT300. The Benelli 302R is a fully-faired motorcycle and an entry level product in the company's portfolio.

At an event in Pune, Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Benelli has launched its full-faired sportsbike, the 302R in India. Benelli had first showcased the 302R at the 2016 Auto Expo where it did garner interest from the enthusiasts. With the new 302R, DSK Benelli aims to create a strong presence in the mid-size motorcycle segment of the Indian market. The DSK Benelli Tornado 302R will be available in three body colour options including Red Nero, White Rosso and Silver Verde. The engine comes mated to 6-speed transmission that sends power to the rear wheel. Stopping power will be through dual petal discs in the front and a single disc at the rear. Suspension duties are handled by an adjustable 41mm KYB inverted upside down front forks and a Hydraulic monoshock setup suspension at the rear.

14-litre fuel tank should offer a decent range.

The 302R is claimed to provide superbiking experience on Indian roads, courtesy of the precisely calibrated front United States dollars forks and rear mono-suspension, which work together to offer a comfortable riding experience.
