US Media Claims Sessions, Russian Ambassador Discussed Trump Campaign Topics

Trump, consumed with rage over the Federal Bureau of Investigation probe, has lashed out time and again on social media and in interviews, causing himself new legal and political problems.

Between 2006 and 2013, Manafort bought three NY properties, including one in Trump Tower in Manhattan.

Congressional lawmakers say President Donald Trump's eldest son and his former campaign chairman won't testify publicly next week as part of the Russian Federation election meddling investigation. The people insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

Attorney Jay Sekulow, a member of the president's external legal team, told The Associated Press on Thursday that the lawyers "will consistently evaluate the issue of conflicts and raise them in the appropriate venue".

In an interview with The New York Times published on Wednesday, Trump said he would have picked somebody else if he had known Sessions was going to recuse himself from the Russian Federation probe. The president's comments were a reminder of Trump's willingness to target his own appointees and blur lines that have traditionally existed between the White House and Justice Department investigations.

Mueller's office recently formally asked the White House to preserve all documents relating to the June 2016 meeting, United States broadcaster CNN reported Friday, citing a source who had seen the letter and read parts of it to a CNN reporter.

Donald Trump Jr., Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and a former campaign chairman are to appear before a Senate committee on the ongoing Russian Federation investigation next week.

The Washington Post reported on Thursday that Mr Trump had inquired about his authority to issue pardons as Mr Mueller's Russian Federation probe widens. "That is his duty".

He took special aim at Mueller, making clear he intends to try to undercut and discredit the man who could bring down his presidency - and possibly eventually remove him.

Trump has achieved little so far of what he said he would during the campaign and his poll ratings are hovering at or below 40 per cent.

"I believe the proposed changes to the bill have helped to clarify the intent of members of Congress as well as express solidarity with our closest allies in countering Russian aggression and holding the Kremlin accountable for their destabilizing activities", Cardin said in a statement.

Mueller has built a team of more than a dozen tough-as-nails investigators, including one expert in flipping mafia witnesses, a money laundering specialist who chased down a corrupt billionaire, and one of the country's most experienced Supreme Court litigators. According to a financial audit reported by the New York Times, he once owed $17m to Russian shell companies.

That eventually led the bank to grant Trump some concessions on the loan, but the suit scarred his relationship with its commercial lending division. So far, her requests have been rebuffed because Republicans have not signed on.

Donald Trump Jr. accused of holding talks with Russian lawyer during his father's election campaign.

Both Trump Jr. and Manafort attended a June 2016 meeting at Trump Tower with a Russian-American lawyer. That meeting was held in Trump Tower in NY after the lawyer offered damaging information about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. To resolve a partisan clash over giving House Democrats the power to force a vote blocking Trump from easing sanctions on Moscow, the deal expedites House consideration of any anti-Trump vote that the Senate has already passed.
