Funeral Monday for 11-year-old girl murdered in Keansburg, New Jersey

A Jamaican man missed his 11-year-old daughter's funeral after being denied a temporary visa, despite pleading with President Donald Trump.

Kenroy Smith tells the Asbury Park Press (http://on.app.com/2uMoPHN ) the visa application for AbbieGail Smith's sister to leave Jamaica was denied and his remains in limbo.

"She was my everything", Smith said. 'She was my princess.

Kenroy revealed he was originally deported to his home country after a marijuana arrest in 2001.

The Department of State said it's prohibited from disclosing details about visa cases. Her body was found in blanket near the apartment building where she lived in Keansburg on July 13.

A neighbor, 18-year-old Andreas Erazo, has been charged in connection with her death.

Police have not released a motive for the killing.

As Abbie's family wept and shared stories of her life, her aunt Sonja Bennett hoped for answers.
