Luckily for all of us, Kensington Palace have just released an absolutely adorable new portrait of the young prince to celebrate turning the big number 4. The Duke and Duchess are very pleased to share this lovely picture as they celebrate Prince George's fourth birthday, and would like to thank everyone for all of the kind messages they have received'.

A beaming Prince George wears a striped, collarless shirt and his hair combed casually to the side in the photo.

This time, the birthday portrait was taken by Chris Jackson of Getty Images, one of the regular royal photographers, who married Kate's stylist, Natasha Archer, in May.

The photo from Kensington Palace is the latest of several images released on George and Charlotte's birthdays, many of which were taken by the Duchess of Cambridge.

The couple also released a new photograph of Prince George's little sister, Princess Charlotte, when she turned two on May 25. Some of those wishes likely came during their recent tour of Poland and Germany.

In other photos, George and Charlotte were seen looking outside the plane's windows.

The British royals were on the last day of their tour of Germany when they were offered a visit inside an H145 and H135 helicopter at the Airbus compound in Hamburg.

Princess Charlotte didn't have quite as much fun checking out the helicopters after losing her footing on the tarmac.
