'Crash Bandicoot's' hardest ever level comes to the remaster

Once upon a time, a platform game called Crash Bandicoot launched for an ancient console known to mankind as the Sony PlayStation.

At the time, it was less risky to keep the level on the disc than completely remove it, so the developers hid Stormy Ascent, although fans armed with GameSharks (remember those?) had exclusive access to what became one of the original game's most notorious challenges. Naughty Dog felt it was too hard to include in the main game.

Taylor Kurosaki, a former team member of the original Crash Bandicoot said on PlayStation Blog that Stormy Ascent was "playable, but just too damn hard".

The previously unreleased Stormy Ascent level from the first Crash game is now available as free DLC for the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is out now on PlayStation 4 for $39.99 United States dollars. After that, it will cost $2.99.
