Unlike other fighting games based on anime series, such as Naruto and other Dragon Ball properties, Dragon Ball FighterZ will maintain the 2D anime art style. On top of that, Dragon Ball FighterZ will be supported on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

"In terms of the Switch version, we're now working on Xenoverse 2 for the Switch, so we want players to first go there, and then we can talk about FighterZ".

In addition to the reveal trailer of Trunks, it was also announced that there will be a Dragon Ball FighterZ beta for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and registration to participate will start on July 26.

The Evolution Championship Series, or EVO, always brings news for fighting game fans. However, some fans may take issue with this for a couple of different reasons. People are going wild for Arc System Works' attractive, frantic 2-D fighter based on Akira Toriyama's classic manga and anime.

A Switch version of the game has been discussed before- and it will be discussed again later, but not until Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 launches for the Switch later this year. This means that players who are itching to get their hands on the next 2.5 D fighting game will have to wait a little bit longer. As such, we expect that the final release will boast quite the sizeable roster of Dragon Ball characters as well as quite a few intriguing team possibilities. That announcement did not involve Tekken, but rather another of Bandai Namco's fighters, Dragon Ball FighterZ.
