"I promise you that the day will come when President Donald Trump moves the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem", he added.

For example, Pence said, Trump had appointed US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley and US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, who both have proven already that things are going to run differently than how they ran in the previous eight years.

Israeli Ambassador Ron Dermer, speaking ahead of Pence, praised the U.S. vice president at length and called Pence's repeated commitments to Israel since taking office a statement of support for Israel "unrivaled in American history".

This statement was indeed a welcome one to the members of CUFI, the largest pro-Israel grassroots organization in the United States.

"Let me say with confidence to all who are gathered here and to all the watching world: President Trump and I stand without apology for Israel today". Get free emails from NCR. "I know you believe that, and I thank you for that support".

'The State of Israel and her people bear witness to God's faithfulness as well as their own. How more unlikely has been her survival and how confounding against the odds has been her thriving?' he said. "They want to conquer the Middle East, they want to destroy the State of Israel, and then they want to conquer the world".

American Jewish voters, however, preferred Democrat Hillary Clinton to Republican Donald Trump by a almost 3-1 ratio.

In his address at the 12th Annual Christians United for Israel (CUFI) Summit in Washington on Monday, US Vice President Mike Pence reassured the 4,000 attendees that the President Donald Trump's administration stands strongly behind Israel, and that despite the delay, Trump will most assuredly fulfill his campaign promise to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Few cited Israel as a top reason for their choice. "It is not a question of 'if.' It is only 'when, ' " the vice president said to cheers.

"And above all else, a lasting peace requires true and complete Palestinian willingness to accept and recognize the Jewish state of Israel", said Pence.

In June, President Donald Trump delayed the move of the USA embassy to Jerusalem amid the threat to the Israeli-Palestinian peace process posed by opposition to the move from Palestinians.

Netanyahu also spoke about Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The status of Jerusalem is a flashpoint issue in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Jerusalem is holy to Christians, Muslims and Jews and is claimed as a capital by Israel but also the Palestinians, for the future state they aim to build on disputed land now controlled by Israel.

"In 1995, Congress passed a law that mandated moving the embassy to Jerusalem".

'In terms of deliverables with respect to Israel, nothing has happened, ' Goldman said. "We have no better friends on earth than you". 'To present this as a new day? No. "It is a continuation of the strong unwavering bond that Israel has had with America and America has had with Israel", she said.
