Two FC personnel including major killed in Peshawar blast

At least two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, including a major, killed in blast at Hayattabad area of Peshawar today.

The suicide blast targeted the Talab Checkpost, security sources said.

The report also states that the FC convoy was travelling from camp in Hayatabad to headquarters in Qila Bala Hisar when the explosion happened. The security officer has been identified as Major Jamal and the other as Zahir Shah.

A senior police official said the explosion occurred near the Bagh-e-Naran chowk in Hayatabad, Dawn news reported.

Constable Waliullah, Lance Naek Tahir Shah, Constable Amir Jan, Constable Sharafat and civilians Shahid Khan, Hamayun, Ahmed Shah, Laila and Sarmad Shah were among the injured, police said.

The area has been cordoned off while the wounded have been shifted to Hayatabad Medical Complex.

After the incident, the security forces covered the area to collect the evidence. Two vehicles have also been damaged in the blast.

Last Monday, two Frontier Constabulary (FC) men were martyred and five got injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) blast went off in Lakka Tegga area of Kurram agency.
