Tom Holland Wants Tobey Maguire To Play Uncle Ben In The MCU

I could be paraphrasing, here.

Spider-Man: Homecoming left fans with a few unanswered questions. He's an endearing character and the film was able to display this quality to great effect. Peter Parker's Aunt May has got a major revamp in Spider-Man: Homecoming and is being played by Marisa Tomei, and there's no reason her husband (Uncle Ben is May's husband in the Marvel universe), shouldn't get an upgrade too.

Tom Holland plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Zendaya plays Michelle/MJ in "Spider-Man: Homecoming", which is now in theaters worldwide.

While we got a sneak peek at his performance courtesy of a shoehorned in cameo in the aforementioned Civil War, Homecoming proves that Tom Holland has been perfectly cast as the titular character and his alter-ego Peter Parker. As a result, many are already fancasting the character.

With the critical and commercial success Spider-Man: Homecoming has had over its first week in theatres, it's probably safe to say that actor Tom Holland is one of Hollywood's rising stars. They even have Spider-Man run through the backyards in the neighbourhood in a similar fashion to Ferris Bueller's Day Off. He looks up to Iron Man (Robert Downey Junior) for help and clarity. Is "Homecoming" really worse than those two Spidey flicks? Stark to call again. I cannot believe that I can almost call myself an Avenger.

Meanwhile, Peter wants to impress Liz (Laura Harrier), a pretty senior at his school, and to do well at the academic decathlon, and to continue perfecting his web-fluid formula (which he works on in science class when the teacher isn't looking). Ned proves crucial to the film, grounding it, acting the way we imagine we might if we (as a teenager) found out our friend was a superhero. The trailers seemed to portray him working on his own without much in the way of credible resources, but the reality in the film is sophisticated enough to make it believable. He often jumps headlong into a conflict with no actual plan for resolving it, motivated by good intentions but often lacking the maturity and experience of his fellow superheroes.

Spider-Man: Homecoming was released this past weekend to great box office numbers and glowing critical reviews. However, some of the nastiest comments made by critics really stuck with us (see below). Apart from a running joke where every male in Peter's life has the hots for her - and honestly, who can blame them? - she really doesn't serve any goal in the story.
