Spurs have widely reported as suitors for Barkley recently and it appears a move could be back on the cards.

Tottenham remain the only Premier League side not to sign a single player in the summer transfer window so far.

Spurs fans who are not hugely enthusiastic about signing Barkley hope Pochettino can get the best out of a young English talent.

According to a report in the Sunday Mirror, Spurs are keen to get Barkley on board before they head to the U.S. on Wednesday but negotiations will have to move swiftly for the deal to get done, while the two clubs will also have to settle their differences over the fee.

However, the catch remains that notoriously tight-fisted Daniel Levy does not want to pay the £50m price tag that Everton have slapped on the player and want him for £30m instead.

Spurs saw Kyle Walker depart for Manchester City this week with his sizeable fee likely to be added to the transfer coffers this summer with the club yet to make a major signing.

Swansea are holding out for 50 million pounds to sell Gylfi, who left White Hart Lane just before Mauricio Pochettino arrived.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park after seemingly falling out of favour with manager Ronald Koeman. Everton would rather cash in on Barkley now than risk losing him for training compensation next summer.
