The Belgium global has the hard task of replacing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who left Old Trafford at the end of last season after scoring 17 goals from 28 Premier League appearances.

United will be wanting to keep De Gea, with the Red Devils wanting a fee of more than £60M for the former Atletico Madrid man who has two years left on his current contract at Old Trafford, according to the Mirror.

Premier League champions Chelsea are reportedly holding on to Serbia worldwide Matic until they complete the signing of Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, which is believed to be close.

'Arsenal won a competition, we won two-and-a-half, I like to say.

'I think after the champions, Chelsea, I think Manchester United is the second most successful club last season and Arsenal the third.

"Matic is a Chelsea player and I have to respect the player, the club and the club owner". During the Q&A Mourinho revealed his desire to sign two more players this season, complementing the acquisitions of Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof.

While the 24-year-old centre-back has been touted as one of the best defenders for the future, he is ready to earn a major role in the Real Madrid following Pepe's move to Turkish side Besiktas this summer.

"Yes, we have had interest, that is obvious and it's public". From his point of view he wanted to play still at the highest level. I cannot criticise Real Madrid and I can not criticise my club. We do not determine what the price is of a player of Real Madrid, Real Madrid do that.

The Red Devils will also be hoping to mount a serious title challenge next term after they finished sixth in the Premier League table.
