The film will be released shortly before Mary Poppins Returns next Christmas.

From Iron Man to Spider-Man, the cast of the upcoming ensemble "Avengers: Infinity War" gathered on stage for a superhero-sized selfie and debuted new footage for fans.

For the lead role in live-action Arabian tale "Aladdin", Disney introduced newcomer Mena Massoud, after trade publications reported this week that the studio had trouble finding an actor of the right ethnicity. The all-new sequel to the 1964 Mary Poppins, which was part of the Expo's live-action presentation slate, features a fresh sensibility while celebrating the spirit of the original. "She's just unbelievable", before teasing that her version of Mary is a little more "acerbic and odd and vain" like the character is in the books.

A sneak peek at Jon Favreau's live-action remake of The Lion King, featuring CGI lions, provoked an emotional response from the crowd.

Among all the Jedi, Norse gods, princesses and witches in Disney's D23 sizzle reel this weekend, there is one smaller figure who still generated big cheers every time it was shown: Lin-Manuel Miranda's character in Mary Poppins Returns.

Scenes showed Mary Poppins floating from the skies holding a kite, pulling an umbrella out of her magic bottomless bag and riding in a vehicle with lamplighter Jack (Lin-Manuel Miranda) in a part-animated sequence echoing the original film.
