Appleton announced Thursday he is signing with the Winnipeg Jets, the team that drafted him in the 2015 NHL Draft. He finishes his collegiate career with 17 goals and 36 assists in 72 games.

Copp was drafted 104th overall by the Jets at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, following his first full season of NCAA hockey at the University of MI.

With Appleton, who is 6-foot-2 and 193 pounds, agreeing to terms, the Jets will have six of their eight selections from the 2015 Draft playing in the system this coming season.

With this deal completed, the Jets now have just one RFA deal to complete at the National Hockey League level, with only Connor Hellebuyck left to get under contract for the coming season.
