On Friday, RJD chief Lalu Prasad came out in defence of his tainted minister son and made it clear that the latter will not resign from his post over graft charges.

"Tejashwi Yadav will not resign under any circumstances", the RJD chief said and denied speaking to Mrs Gandhi on phone.

"Our alliance is unbreakable". Nitishji did not demand resignation. said JD (U) leader KC Tyagi told ANI. But if Nitish Kumar would have ruled the state with loyalty and perseverance then it would have been great.

The crisis within the alliance government in Bihar deepened further as Tejashwi, 28, skipped an official function in Patna where he was scheduled to share the dais with Nitish Kumar Saturday.

The compromise formula being worked out between the warring JD (U) and RJD in Bihar is expected to involve two things - the sacking of scam-tainted Tejaswi Yadav, the State's Deputy CM and Lalu Prasad's son, and his replacement with another member of Lalu's family. "Some media in the name of "utpati (destructive) sources" is running one-point programme of BJP.I feel like laughing at it loudly", he said. The RJD leader added that his organization was of the view that if Tejashwi steps down on his own, it would demoralize the party rank and file. Nitish switched places with the help of JD (U) minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh who was sitting on his right side. Media reports are showing that Sonia ji has held talks with me and Nitish ji, all this is false. Later, in his speech, the CM made no mention of Lalu and delivered a completely apolitical speech on how the "hardworking" people of Bihar and how "they are nearly indispensable". The recent political development has given birth to many theories that are being discussed on the possible fate of the 20-month-old Mahagathbandhan Government.

While Labour Resources Minister Vijay Prakash, an RJD leader, presided over the function to celebrate the first anniversary of "Kushal Yuva Karyakram", there was visible awkwardness among the organisers over Tejashwi's absence. He said the RJD would not let the BJP break the JD (U)-RJD-Congress alliance in Bihar.

A JD (U) leader said discussion in the party forum have touched various aspects on whether to remain in the alliance or part ways.
