Police Identify Woman Found Dead In Middlesex, Autopsy Indicates Possible Homicide

On Wednesday evening July 12 at approximately 6 p.m. Vermont State Police received a call from a resident of Brook Road in the town of Middlesex, Washington County. The police are investigating the death as a homicide due to evidence at the scene and results from a medical examiner; a preliminary autopsy was completed Thursday morning in Burlington.

At 9:50 a.m., state police and Londonderry Rescue responded to a report of a non-responsive male in an apartment on North Main Street, state police said in a news release. According to a release from Vermont State Police, the last person to hear from Cook was a family member who spoke with her by phone on July 3. Police are also looking for Cook's vehicle, a cream-colored 2009 MINI Cooper Clubman station wagon with a black top and black stripes on the hood, with a Vermont license plate (GBH823).

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vermont State Police at 802-229-9191. This investigation is in its early stages and this death is considered suspicious.
